Look ma no cavities!

Maria was such a big girl today at the dentist's office. We'd taken her by a few weeks ago when she'd had too many strawberries and wouldn't even open her mouth - guess she knew it'd hurt. Today was a different story in every way. She got her teeth "counted" and cleaned and was all finished in no time - without cavities. The dentist did say we have braces to look forward to - mom wore them for 8 years so I always sort of expected it was a rite of passage. Guess fluoride isn't such a big deal after all. They were brushing their teeth at the orphanage but they're just like other children - not that excited about doing it.
